My name is Melanie, I’m 28 years old and I am originally from Brampton, Ontario. I graduated from the Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University in 2020 and, a few short months later, moved all the way to the Arctic. I have been living in the remote community of Aklavik, Northwest Territories for the last 3 years where I have been teaching grades 4-6. I have always loved working with kids and am looking forward to working in this new role as a therapy assistant.
Not long after moving to the Arctic, I adopted a cute and tiny little puppy who has become a huge part of my life. Her name is Miska and she is a tripawd. But not to worry, that doesn’t affect her speed or spirits. She is the derpy-est and sweetest 3-legged dog you will ever meet!
In my free time I enjoy using my cricut machine for crafting, finding new movies to watch, having games nights with friends and spending time with my dog.
