Who We Are

 

 Boreal Clinic is an allied health clinic providing co-located health and
education-related services that are united in their dedication to delivering high-
quality essential care in the Yukon Territory. In September 2026, we are expanding
to develop a robust mental health team to serve youth, adults, and elders. Our aim
is to build a thriving service with opportunities for programming and training in
specializations that are not yet available in “The Wilderness City.”

Psychotherapist Position

Boreal Clinic is recruiting experienced Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and
Certified Counsellors and Psychotherapists (CCC, RP) to join our growing mental
health team in the heart of downtown Whitehorse, Yukon Territory in Fall of 2026.
Our focus is in therapies that have strong research support for a range of specific
concerns and conditions.


Job Requirements

 

  •  Master’s degree in social work or a counseling field AND registration in Canada (RSW, RP, or CCC)

  •  3+ years of experience delivering evidence-informed care for adults, elders, and/or youth

  •  Existing registration(s) in good standing

  •  Experience and interest in clinical training, supervision, and consultation

  •  Strong candidates will have interest or experience in structured, targeted therapies, such as one or more of the following: CBT-based therapies for sleep health and insomnia; CBT or ACT for tinnitus and other auditory conditions; CBT or ACT for chronic pain

  •  At least 2 professional references

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

       -  Skilled in evidence-based therapies, including (at minimum) one Cognitive

       - Behavioural Therapy

       - Knowledgeable in the selection and utilization of the most current scientifically

       - Validated assessment methods

  •  Committed to staying current in the scientific literature relevant to area(s) of practice and in the application of scientific   evidence to clinical decision making

  • Recognizes and values community and cultural healing practices; recognizes  evidence-based practice as one of many paths.

  • Demonstrated awareness, sensitivity, and interest toward understanding and continuing education about the needs of individuals from a range of groups and backgrounds, including: socioeconomic, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, cultural, disability, and other historically underrepresented groups

  • A commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion, which includes willingness and humility to independently explore personal biases and behaviours

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with professional staff, students, and clients

  •  Strengths in tolerating ambiguity and adjusting to change as this clinic grows and develops, ideally with your input and contribution!

  • Self-disciplined and independently able to maintain timeliness of high-quality documentation and communication with coworkers and clientele

  • Strong ethical-mindedness and orientation

Psychologist Position

Boreal Clinic is recruiting an experienced doctoral (Ph.D./Psy.D.) or Master’s-level
psychologist to join our growing evidence-based mental health team in the heart
of downtown Whitehorse, Yukon Territory in Fall of 2026.


Job Requirements

 

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from a CPA or APA accredited program, orequivalent; Masters degree in psychology with clinical or counselling emphasis

  • 3+ years experience delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention for adults, elders, and/or youth

  • Existing registration(s) in good standing; eligible for registration as a psychologist or provisional psychologist in the Yukon Territory

  • Experience and interest in clinical training, supervision, and consultation

  • At least 2 professional references


Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Highly skilled in the use of evidence-based therapies, including a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT, ACT, DBT, etc.)

  • Knowledgeable in the selection and utilization of the most current scientifically validated assessment methods and materials within area(s) of expertise or specialization; able to adapt methods as necessary for cultural appropriateness and fit

  • Committed to staying current in the scientific literature relevant to area(s) of practice and in the application of scientific evidence to clinical decision making

  • Demonstrated awareness, sensitivity, and interest toward understanding and continuing education about the needs of individuals from a range of groups and backgrounds, including: socioeconomic, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, cultural, disability, and other historically underrepresented groups
