• Certified as a Structured Literacy™ Dyslexia Specialist (#E180695) with the Center for Effective Reading
  Instruction (CERI)

• As the mother of a child who struggled to learn to read, I am personally and professionally passionate about literacy development and instructional approaches that are individualized, inclusive, culturally responsive, and evidence based. It also makes my heart happy to support caregivers and educators in navigating the world of teaching reading and writing to children of all ages

 

Training:

• Human Communication Sciences and Disorders at Dalhousie University, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2004

• Ottawa University for a Bachelors degree in Linguistics and Psychology

Personal:

• French is my home language, but I speak and write fluently in both English and French

• I am originally from the small, Northern Ontario town of Kapuskasing - a word of Cree origin, which means ‘bend in the river’.

• I moved to the Yukon in 2006 with my partner and joined the Boreal Clinic team in 2022

• When not at work, you can find me reading about reading, skiing, biking, running, and enjoying delicious food with my partner and cook extraordinaire - Anthony, our two boys, and our furry friend – Oslo.
